1. Write scenarios that describe the behavioral and cognitive activities of someone who is considering acquiring offerings for each of following motivational constructs:

  1. Personal Relevance
  2. The Self-concept
  3. Values

Create detailed specific behaviors and thoughts that someone would exhibit that demonstrate that you understand the constructs. Discuss what is being considered and why for each construct.

Your response should be appropriate to how our textbook defines the terms. Giving individuals names can help to give an appropriate level of detail.

Do not provide definitions. Do not provide an introduction, a conclusion, or a summary. Just answer the question.

The response should be 200–250 words.

2. Write scenarios that describe the behavioral and cognitive activities of someone who is considering acquiring an offering to satisfy a symbolic need. Discuss a specific need in terms of approach-approach, approach-avoidance, and avoidance-avoidance need conflicts.

So, you should end up with 3 separate treatments of the question.

A symbolic need with an approach-approach conflict.

A symbolic need with an approach-avoidance conflict.

A symbolic need with an avoidance-avoidance conflict.

Create detailed specific behaviors and thoughts that someone would have that demonstrate that you understand the need and conflict constructs that are being asked about. Discuss what is being considered and why for each construct.

Your response should be appropriate to how our textbook defines the term. Giving individuals names can help to give an appropriate level of detail.

Do not provide definitions. Do not provide an introduction, a conclusion, or a summary. Just answer the question.

The response should be 200–250 words.

3. Describe specific thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of two individuals who are viewing advertisements. One person is a low-context individual who is viewing a low-context oriented advertisement and then a high-context oriented advertisement. What are that individual’s personal experiences in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The other person is a high-context individual who is also viewing a low-context oriented advertisement and then a high-context oriented advertisement. What are that individual’s personal experiences in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

So, you will have four topics.

For the Low-context individual:

  1. Address the impact of the low-context advertisement on the individual in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
  2. Address the impact of the high-context advertisement individual in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

For the High-context individual:

  1. Address the impact of the low-context advertisement on the individual in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
  2. Address the impact of the high-context advertisement on the individual in terms of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Discuss each one separately so as to exhibit good organization.

It can be very helpful to find two actual advertisements that you consider to be examples of low and high context orientations, and use them as a basis for your responses. Providing URLs for each of them will likely make your response clearer (earning more points).

Giving individuals names can help to give an appropriate level of detail.

Do not provide definitions. Do not provide an introduction, a conclusion, or a summary. Just answer the question.

The response should be 200–250 words.
