Ethical Considerations and Research Questions
This assignment focuses on ethical considerations and research. As you consider the information in this unit’s lesson and as you prepare your research questions that will guide your assignments over the next eight units, think about the importance of ethical considerations and strategies for preventing unethical behaviors in research.
Note, as you proceed through this course, the research questions and hypothesis will most likely be refined one or more times during the first six units. This assignment and subsequent revisions will be used in the development of your research proposal in Unit VII.
In the first part of this assignment, you will:
• Explain the scientific method and the research process.
• Explain the importance of ethics in research in your own words.
• Explain the importance of ethical considerations in public and nonprofit administration research. Be sure to address the importance of protections of human subjects.
• Explain how researchers engage in unethical behavior in the research process and some strategies to prevent unethical behavior.
In the second part of the assignment, you will develop research questions and a hypothesis. Make sure that the research questions and hypothesis are clear and concise.
• Develop two quantitative research questions based on a phenomenon you are interested in learning more about in public or nonprofit administration.
• Develop two research hypotheses based on the research questions you constructed.

Part 1: Project Selection, Stakeholder Identification, and Stakeholder Analysis
For this assignment, select a project from the following list.
• Office relocation
• Enterprise resource planning (or other large-scale information system)
• Automated car wash with multiple self-serve vacuum stations
• Warehouse shopping center
• County courthouse building
• Other: Subject to approval by instructor. Note that the project must be sufficiently stakeholder-intensive to support creation of the assigned plans.
Then for the chosen project, identify, analyze, and rank in importance the project stakeholders into a stakeholder identification and analysis plan. Use the following areas as a guide to your plan.

Unit I Case Study
Assess real-world project failure due to poor stakeholder management – Denver, Colorado, International Airport
Search the CSU Online Library and internet to find an example of a project that failed due to poor stakeholder management. (Note: While the reasons for project failure are many, not all failures are linked to stakeholder management deficiencies. Projects with many stakeholders such as highly visible public projects and/or failed product development launches are good examples to begin your search.) Your submission should include the following:
1. Brief summary of project,
2. Explanation of why the project is considered to be a failure,
3. Descriiption of the stakeholder issue linked to the project failure along with your supporting rationale, and
4. Recommendations for what the project team could have done to avoid the problem.

THE POST:
The death penalty, a very controversial subject has been around for many years. This harsh punishment is given for harsh crimes, and I have to say I support it especially when it comes to crimes against children. One argument against it is that innocent people might be charged with crimes they didn’t commit and get sent to death row. If one is going to die by lethal injection, there should be solid evidence that they are guilty of the crime. Below are reasons why I agree with the death penalty.
A harsh penalty is needed for criminals who have committed the worst of crimes. If someone knows they might get sentenced to death it might deter them from committing the crime.
If you take someone’s life on purpose, then your life can be taken as well. The victim’s family deserve closure.
When someone has no problem committing violent crimes, no one is safe. Even if they are locked up, we still have guards that must watch them, and even other inmates are at risk.
It is constitutional, a person may not be “deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.”
It’s justice for the innocent. An “eye for an eye.” The rights of a criminal should not be above those they killed.

The primary goal final paper is to critically analyze the specific topic “Controlled Substance Act (1970)” regarding American national government focusing on main points: Historical and constitutional basis for the American Government’s structure
The system of checks and balances, various roles (e., public opinion, media, special interest groups, etc.) concerning public policy and elections, voting system and election process. Reflect on key structures, systems, roles, and processes that embody our national government. Think about strengths and weaknesses, advantages and disadvantages, and positive and negative impacts of these aspects of our democracy. Use what you have learned so far to evaluate a specific policy of our national government and recommend ways to enhance what works and repair what is not working well. It is important that the Final Paper utilizes your previous research. The Final Paper should utilize the Final Paper template and be at least six pages in length (not including title page and references).
