Asthma is a chronic life-threatening condition that affects over 5,000 people in just the U.S today. Although there are no scientific studies showing what exactly causes flare ups, there is enough evidence to point to air pollution being responsible. Kimi Eisele, argues that “Air pollution policies should acknowledge this connection” 1. Pollution can trigger asthma attacks due to smoke-fog, also known as smog, and hydrocarbons from tailpipes and power plants. Government should have more control over our air pollution to reduce asthma attacks.
